Guide to Bikepacking

Welcome to the section dedicated not only to gravel enthusiasts, but especially to all bike travel. Bike-packing is, in our opinion, a world unto itself. But there are at least a few dozen forms of it. From wild day trips to weekend wanderings through scenic landscapes to performance-suffering challenges leading across continents. Let's discover it together.

Inspiration for bike-packing gear

Take a look at our galleries featuring three different bike-packing kits. A one-day 12-hour solo ride through the wilderness gives space for a very spartan approach. A weekend ride for two with accommodation at a friend's or your own halfway house offers a certain amount of comfort.

What to take on a bikepacking trip

  • One-day "wild" bike-packing

    • minimalist rendition
    • I carry only the essentials

Let yourself be drawn into the world of bike-packing

Together with Zoran Bartek, we decided to prepare and publish personal recommendations, experiences and stories for you on an ongoing basis. For some of them, you only need to drive a few dozen kilometers to visit the cottage. For others, you have to drive in hundred-kilometer stages and tour the entire European continent. We bring you insights directly from those who have totally fallen for bikepacking and bike adventures.

Why try bikepacking?

How Michaela has packed for bikepacking

Michaela rides a lot solo. She has ridden the Alps alone, but she can also do a more relaxed version of bikepacking with a friend - České Budějovice > Prague in a weekend. Check out the women's bikepacking performed by Michaela.

Bikepacking across the border - Austrian Alps

4-day bikepacking crossing of the Alps by women. Michaela left Prague by train, got off in Graz and headed home via mountain passes and saddles.

Passion Transcontinental Race by Zoran

If you have any interest in long-distance cycling, endurance sports or bikepacking, you will not have missed the TCR event, the Transcontinental Race. Before our friend Zoran Bartek took part in this phenomenon, the first encounter was pleasantly random and eye-opening.

Bikepacking outside Prague - Sázava

Velké Popovice, the legendary pub U Žraloka in Vlkovec run by a cycling enthusiast, Český Šternberk and Kácov. One beauty after another! The Sázava tour by Zoran is a good example that you can have a great bikepacking just outside the capital.

From Prague to Valencia on Snickers

Last summer, my boys and I decided to ride from Prague to Valencia. Everywhere was full of regulations and restrictions and we went anyway. Once again we were faced with the question of what to eat, so we're going to share with you how we discovered our ideal mix!

Giro with Tádis and Béňa

"There was a lot of beautiful things during the whole trip. Beautiful views from the hills, endless sea and always something new. Italy is full of surprises, ancient towns, villages, churches. When we thought we had seen it all, visited Rome and survived Calabria, we took a boat to Sicily where the real thing was yet to come."
