PIVOT BRAND HISTORY
The American brand from Arizona remains in the private hands of its founder to this day. Chris Cocalis is one of the founding fathers of trail and enduro riding on the West Coast. As a rider and racer, he began customizing his builds in the late 1980s, which led to the creation and founding of his first brand, Titus. This brand focused on full suspension builds and very progressively tried to combine multiple materials, with titanium being the "god" material of the day. The BMX era that Chris fell into as a child and his subsequent fascination with trail riding led him to start his second project, Pivot Cycles, through his experience with Titus. TECHNICAL DNA
The enthusiasm for high-tech and innovation remained, but this time not just in materials, but especially in geometry. PIVOT prides itself there with extremely rigid, efficient and functional machines. Exceptional riding dynamics and efficiency in "working" while riding are the prerogative, with the DW-link as the central point. PIVOT works in close cooperation with FOX in the development of the suspension. In fact, the Live Valve technology is developed exclusively between the two companies. The philosophy in building the frame and working with carbon is also interesting.

MODEL PORTFOLIO PIVOT
TRAIL 429
The Pivot Trail 429 is a purebred All-Mountain bike built on a carbon frame with perfectly tuned geometry and DW-Link suspension. This already renowned system offers precise responsiveness on subtle bumps while offering toughness throughout the entire 120mm of travel. The specially shaped rear structure together with SuperBoost technology and a wide centre base make for an extremely stiff unit.
MACH 4 SL
Pivot's flagship bike in the cross-country segment, the Mach 4 SL is built on Pivot's lightest and stiffest frame, which, together with the patented DW-Link suspension, performs perfectly on hill climbs, challenging descents and small bumps. The bike is fitted with Sram's top-of-the-line XX1 AXS wireless groupset and Fox Factory's highest suspension travel of 100mm. Low weight and perfect acceleration are ensured by DT-Swiss XRC 1200 dropouts.
SWITCHBLADE
Swithcblade is (together with Mach 4) the latest generation of Pivot bikes. A superb all-mountain and enduro bike. The stiff and lightweight carbon frame with DW-Link suspension system gives the bike excellent performance on hard terrain and in the climbs. The DW-Link system provides 100% suspension efficiency over the entire 142 mm of travel. The bike is fitted with Fox Factory's top of the range suspension with 160mm of travel at the front and 142mm of travel at the rear. Sram X01 lightning-fast shifting mechanical groupset.
FIREBIRD
A full-featured enduro special, the Pivot Cycles Firebird Pro X01 is hard to beat in the world enduro series. The Firebird is built on an extremely stiff and durable frame equipped with the DW-Link suspension system. With 170mm of travel at the front and 162mm at the rear, the Fox Factory suspension provides plenty of room for the toughest terrain. The DW-Link system used also eliminates uncomfortable swaying on the exits. Fitted with a top-of-the-range Sram X01 groupset.

KEY FEATURES AND BENEFITS OF PIVOT BIKES
DW-link
The first point of interest is the suspension and DWlink. This is what makes the Pivot an exceptional bike with the most precise response and handling. The rear structure is basically one piece, short arms, wishbones and massive bearings. It has a great combination of high stability when pedaling and at the same time extreme sensitivity on the slightest bumps. The system resists pedal bite and chain pull, which works against inertial forces (anti-squad). In addition, the suspension is independent of the brake.
The carbon is "only" one
If you're going to get a Pivot, you don't have to worry about the quality grade of the carbon like other brands. There is no grading here, they buy the fibre and braid and ply it themselves. Pivot Cycles keeps the actual manufacturing process of the frame a secret.
Live Valve
Hi-tech level in suspension. In direct collaboration with FOX, they developed the electronic suspension control unit. Through speed, pressure, shocks and gyroscope it calculates the response in 3 tenths of a second.
Standard SuperBoost Plus
Again, stiffness and efficiency in riding dynamics are the main ideas here. The atypical size of the rear hub gives space to the rear cassette, together with the PressFit BB92 centre compound and specially profiled rear structure forming a unit where the only movement is created by the shock. The whole combination allows the perfect chainline to be maintained without unwanted chain crossing and forms a sturdy base for the DW-Link suspension system.
