The XR Spherical Cycling Helmet is a road racing helmet with extended back protection. Its quality workmanship extends to gravel and XC MTB.
If you want to get off the road and onto the trail around the next bend, you can - the XR is a true all-rounder!
The Spherical Powered by MIPS technology is based on the principle of articulation. The shell consists of two parts (hemispheres) inserted into each other and connected by yellow elastomers.
The whole system creates a kind of suspension that absorbs the forces in the event of an impact - the hemispheres can move relative to each other and the elastomers absorb the energy.
In addition, the outer shell is made of harder material, the inner shell is made of softer material (Progressive Layering technology). Although the XR Spherical provides maximum protection, it is lightweight and superbly ventilated.

MIPS - Multi-Directional Impact Protection System

MIPS is a slip liner between the EPS shell (helmet body) and the inner liners. In the event of an angled impact, the EPS shell of the helmet will roll a few millimetres over the MIPS layer, protecting the head and brain from the violent rotational jerk.
Although this movement is only on the order of a few millimeters, the result is that MIPS significantly reduces the amount of rotational force that might otherwise be transmitted to the brain.
